Minutes of the
January 10, 2002 meeting at the IHSAA Offices.
Chairman Oren Sutherlin,
Linda Barnett, Mike Necessary, Cecil Raymond, Joseph Trimboli.
A hearing was conducted to
consider the appeal of Ryan Shook, a student at North Central High School. Ryan had been prohibited from participating
as a seventh member of a non-school soccer team during the school year out of
season, in accordance with Rule 15-2.2. A
hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and seek permission to
participate on the non-school team without penalty. Following the hearing, legal counsel for the
student’s family and the IHSAA submitted findings of fact. Having analyzed all of the available data, the
IHSAA Review Committee voted to uphold the decision of the Commissioner.
A hearing was conducted to
consider the appeal of Alex Durham, a student at North Central High
School. Alex had been prohibited from
participating as a seventh member of a non-school soccer team during the school
year out of season in accordance with Rule 15-2.2. A hearing was requested in order to appeal
the ruling and seek permission to participate on the non-school team without
penalty. Following the hearing, legal
counsel for the student’s family and the IHSAA submitted findings of fact. Having analyzed all of the available data,
the IHSAA Review Committee voted to uphold the decision of the
Commissioner.
A hearing was conducted to
consider the appeal of Ryan Egger, a student at Oregon-Davis High School. Ryan had been declared ineligible on the
basis of Rule 19-4 and Rule 3-8. A
hearing was requested in order to appeal the ruling and seek full
eligibility. Following the hearing, the
student and the IHSAA submitted findings of fact. Having analyzed all of the available data,
the IHSAA Review Committee voted to uphold the decision of the
Commissioner.
A hearing was conducted to
consider the appeal of Terry Larkin, a student at Attica High School. Terry had been declared ineligible on the
basis of Rule 19-4. A hearing was
requested in order to appeal the ruling and seek full eligibility. Following the hearing, the student’s family
and the IHSAA submitted findings of fact.
Having analyzed all of the available data, the IHSAA Review Committee voted
to uphold the decision of the Commissioner.
